PT KAI Signs Expanded Multi-year Maintenance and Service Agreement with GE
• More than 150 locomotive engines now covered to ensure reliability and high utilization rates
JAKARTA, Indonesia – 28 June 2016 – State-owned PT Kereta Api Indonesia, (PT KAI), together with GE (NYSE: GE) announced today that they have entered into a multi-year agreement which will see GE providing maintenance and service for 50 CC206 CM-20EMP diesel-electric locomotives, the latest addition to PT KAI’s fleet of existing diesel-electric locomotives.
This new maintenance and service agreement (MSA) is an expansion of an earlier MSA between both organizations, and brings the total number of PT KAI locomotives that will be maintained and serviced by GE to 150. The agreement is for a period of eight years, with maintenance and service provided in nine primary maintenance locations in Java and Sumatra.¬
The agreement between PT KAI and GE was signed by Budi Noviantoro, Logistic Director PT KAI and David Hutagalung, President Director, PT GE Operations Indonesia; and witnessed by Edi Sukmoro, President Director PT KAI, John G. Rice, Chairman GE Global Growth Organization, and Handry Satriago, CEO GE Indonesia.

PT KAI currently operates a fleet of more than 350 GE powered locomotives, the latest of which are powered by the GE CC206 diesel-electric locomotives.
