GE Transportation Launches Online University Designed for Customers

Developed to deliver consistent and comprehensive employee training for operators and technicians, GE Transportation University offers online eLearning, training videos and classroom courses designed to provide access to the latest product information, reduce downtime, ramp up employee knowledge and increase revenues. Classroom courses are taught by trainers certified by GE for classroom instruction.


 GE Transportation University’s courses are intended to strengthen employee knowledge and competency which willenable them to more efficiently recognize, diagnose, service and repairGE locomotives and diesel engines. The easy-to-use online courses offera wide variety of learning aids such as how-to videos, interactive activities, quizzes, operator training simulations and 3D animations so operators and technicians can better understand GE Transportation’s engines and components.

Participants can complete the courses at their convenience and at their own pace. The self-directed courses are delivered through several mediums, including iPads, iPhones, tablets, androids, Blackberries and PCs. Future plans call for built-in social networking and communication tools such as live chats, forums, Wikis and WebEx meetings. 

GE Transportation University’s course material is continually evolving. Customers also have the abilitycustomize courses to more precisely fit their unique training needs. These packages are offered in Silver, Gold, Platinum and Diamond editions.
