Office: Fort Worth, TX

Fort Worth is home to our GE Manufacturing Solutions facility where we manufacture advanced rail and transportation-related equipment at a state-of-the-art facility. Employing over 400 highly-skilled assemblers, maintenance technicians, machinists, welders and support staff, the facility primarily produces the Tier 3 Evolution® Series. A fun fact: The Evolution series locomotive is so powerful that one 12-cylinder locomotive can pull the equivalent of 170 Boeing 747 jetliners.

Chicago is home to GE Transportation's global headquarters located in the downtown area. Part of the commitment to Illinois includes GE Transportation's active participation in the Get Skills to Work initiative, a coalition aimed at closing the skills gap and specifically, to supporting veterans as they transition to careers in advanced manufacturing. A recently announced partnership will help the state’s 76,000-plus new veterans pursue and fill open advanced manufacturing jobs by providing training to gain skills certifications.

Office: Contagem, Brazil

Contagem in Minas Gerais, Brazil, is an industrial city containing a wide variety of heavy industry businesses including GE Transportation. Since 1962, we have been producing locomotives, rail operation equipment, parts and components, as well as industrial off-road vehicle systems. Additionally, we offer repair and maintenance services and have produced over 1,500 locomotives, primarily for Latin America and Africa.

Raghu Misra, Chief Innovation Leader of GE Transportation Digital Solutions – Transport Logistics, a division inside GE that is working to optimize entire ecosystems and enable an interconnected, frictionless system of movement of freight, has been accepted into the Forbes Technology Council, an invitation-only community for world-class CIOs, CTOs and technology executives.

As part of the Pakistan Railways agreement signed in June 2015, GE Transportation’s first delivery of GE Evolution Series™ locomotives arrived at Karachi Port. The arrival of seven of 55 units signifies the organizations’ commitment to strengthening Pakistan’s rail infrastructure. To commemorate the milestone, more than 200 senior government officials, private sector partners and media attended a ceremonial luncheon at the port.
