Scott Phillips

Vice President & Global Mining Leader , GE Transportation

Scott Phillips is a GE Company Officer and the Vice President and CEO of GE Transportation’s Mining business with sales, product and service capabilities in all major mining markets around the world and operations in Australia, the U.S. and China. Scott is located in London.

With over 25 years of mining industry experience, Scott joined GE in 2016 from Sandvik where he was most recently President, Global Equipment.  He held P&L responsibility for the complete Sandvik global mining equipment offering including drilling, loading & hauling, underground coal and minerals, hard rock continuous mining, and exploration. Prior to this role, Scott served as President, Loading & Hauling.

Before Sandvik, Scott spent five years in China as Chairman of the Board with Signal Capital Group and Executive Director of the Board of Directors with Freeman Financial Corporation, overseeing a range of strategic acquisitions, valuations, structuring and fund-raising for investments across a number of industries including mining, resources, and energy. He also spent 16 years with Caterpillar in roles of increasing responsibility.

Scott has a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology from Southern Illinois University College of Engineering, Carbondale, IL and a master’s degree in business administration from Illinois State University, Normal, IL.
