Mohamed D. Butt is CEO of GE Transportation Asia Pacific. 

Mohamed started his career with GE in 1995 with GE Appliance Asia, where he served in numerous roles ranging from Product Planning, Marketing Development to Global Sourcing. His role was expanded to cover GE Consumer Products in 2002, as the result of integration between GE Appliances and GE Lighting. Since Industrial Systems merged with Consumer Products in 2003, his responsibilities were extended to all Asia buy for GE Industrial global sourcing.

In October 2008, Mohamed was appointed as President for GE Security, Asia. He continued to assume the role of Asia President for Electronic Fire & Security Products for UTC Fire & Security after the acquisition of GE Security in March 2010. In September 2010, Mohamed returned to GE as CEO of GE Lighting Asia from November 2010 with the responsibility to deliver strategy and oversee business across Asia.

In November 2012, Mohamed assumed the current leadership role leading the GE Transportation for Greater China, North and South East Asia.

Mr. Mohamed D. Butt graduated in 1984 from Winona State University, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He received his MBA from Kellogg School of Management and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2007.
