Martin Mengwall joined GE Transportation as Business Development Leader in early 2013. He leads Transportation’s development strategy, translating business development concepts into reality and helping drive the implementation of global business strategy. His responsibilities include playing a key role in GE Transportation’s strategic acquisition and divestiture decisions, negotiating external agreements, and conducting business, industry and competitor analyses to support our global growth initiatives.
From 2008 through 2012, Martin served as General Manager in GE’s Corporate Global Business Development organization where he worked with several GE businesses on transactions, including the acquisitions of Clarient and Converteam and the divestiture of Homeland Protection, as well as strategic initiatives such as software and mining. Previously, he held investment management and business development positions with several leading firms including Goldman Sachs and Highland Capital Partners.
Martin holds an undergraduate degree in applied physics and economics from Yale University and both an MBA and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Stanford.
